Sidewalks made of Natural Stone

Numerous public roads and sidewalks have been and are planned and built with natural stone - e.g. in the course of restoring a town or village. In order to achieve aesthetic, properly laid, as well as long-lasting pavements and roads, several factors, such as material, stone quality, supporting under and over structures, well built grooves or drainage systems for the area must be taken into consideration.

By testing the stone in a laboratory significant technical and geometrical values are found out. These values are used to determine the usability of paving tiles made of natural stone or marble. In inspections existing pavements are inspected for possible mistakes in building.

If problems occur in the under or over structure the LGA is often called to consult. In special cases tests of the sample surfaces in a laboratory or on site are possible.
