Natural Stone Flooring

For a permanent, proper production of natural stone flooring inside and outside of the buildings there are enough technical rules and books containing the requirements, stipulations and suggestions on which material to use for which construction.

In several large buildings the flooring and the quality of the stones are supervised by LGA employees. In many instances a consultation regarding a pollution-free construction will follow.

The required parameters and mechanical values, e.g. for the measurement of the tiles, for the corresponding natural stone are determined fast and reliably in the LGA's certified laboratories. These parameters are, for example, apparent specific mass, water absorption, resistance to frost (in sidings that are exposed to the weather), compressive strength, resistance to wear, resistance to bending, resistance to frost and dew salt, and non-slip properties. Many times LGA employees will take samples from the quarry or the plant in order to secure significant random samples.

Sometimes the floor construction can even be damaged by natural stone that would have been right. Courts, public and private contractors send LGA engineers to look at the damage and determine causes, assess the damage, suggest repair methods and calculate the costs.
